Electrical repairs & EICR remedial work

Fault finding, emergency repairs and fixed-price remedial work for C1, C2 and FI observations, completed and certified within the landlord 28-day deadline.

EICR remedial work

If your EICR came back unsatisfactory, the C1, C2 and FI items must be put right. For rented homes in England that means within 28 days, or sooner if the report says so. Upload your report and we return a priced breakdown, then complete the work and issue the right certificate so you can confirm completion to tenants and the council. Got a report from another company? We can price remedials from that too.

Common repairs

  • Adding RCD protection or replacing the consumer unit
  • Earthing and main protective bonding upgrades
  • Replacing damaged accessories, sockets and light fittings
  • Tracing faults that cause tripping or loss of power
  • Rectifying polarity, insulation resistance and loop impedance issues

Read what each EICR code means to understand what needs doing first.

FAQ

Electrical repairs: frequently asked questions

Do I need a new EICR after remedial work?

Not usually. The electrician issues a Minor Works or Electrical Installation Certificate for the work, which together with the original report shows the installation is now satisfactory.

Can a different electrician do the remedial work?

Yes. You can use any competent electrician for remedials. We can price work from another company’s report.
