Fire alarm testing & servicing

Periodic inspection and servicing of fire detection and alarm systems, weekly test support, certificates and remedial works for commercial premises, HMOs and residential blocks.

Your fire alarm duties

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to maintain fire safety systems in efficient working order. BS 5839-1 (non-domestic) and BS 5839-6 (domestic and HMO) set out how systems should be designed, tested and serviced. The system category and your fire risk assessment decide what is appropriate.

Do landlords need fire alarm testing?

Landlords must fit smoke alarms on every storey and carbon monoxide alarms where required, and check they work at the start of each tenancy. HMOs and blocks often have larger systems that need professional servicing.
